Why do we procrastinate?
In my last post we spoke about procrastination, here I want to discuss why we procrastinate.
One big reason of why people don’t get things done is because they don’t have a clear path on mind. Yes, they do have a goal but they don’t know how to achieve it.
For example, my goal is to make more friends but I don’t know where to meet new people, how to make people want to be friends with me, and how to not be shy.
See? I have a goal but when thinking about this very exhausting and scary task, I’ll keep thinking “I have to do this, I have to make new friends, I’m so lonely” but subconsciously I will push it off not knowing where to start and how to go about my goal.
Sitting down in a quiet room maybe with a pen and paper to help you think and keep track of your thoughts, think of small deeds you can do to get people to notice you, like holding the door for them, smiling and greeting your neighbors, going to social events etc…
Once you think of a clear and doable path to achieving a goal you will procrastinate a lot less knowing that the task at hand is not impossible
